Week 3 - With A Buddist - TKW
March 19, 2017 Speaker: Mark Schulz Series: Jesus Walk into a Bar
Topic: Different Religions Scripture: Romans 5:3–5, Romans 8:18–39
For the Buddhist, loss of self is the way we escape suffering. Our task is to do things that help us escape the illusion of self and achieve freedom from the desires for the material world and its struggles.
Jesus teaches that suffering is a result of sin and is the byproduct of life in a broken and sinful world. God does not remove suffering from our lives now. Suffering can be used by God to form and shape us. He walks with us in our suffering. It can be endured for the sake of others. And ultimately it will be brought to an end by Jesus.
