Week 6 - with A Christian - TKW & TGT

April 9, 2017 Speaker: Mark Schulz Series: Jesus Walk into a Bar

Topic: Different Religions Scripture: Matthew 19:16–26, Ephesians 2:8–10, Acts 4:32–37

So many people are “cultural Christians” who are confused about what the Bible teaches about salvation. They believe they are basically good people, and by being good they have earned God’s favor and a place in heaven. For them, Jesus becomes a wise teacher, who sets the example for us to follow. As does Buddha and Krishna, and Mohammed! In fact, it is the cultural Christian who believes all religions are fundamentally the same.

But Jesus came to do more than just show us the right way to live. He gave his life because no one can earn heaven based on their own behavior. New life is a gift of grace that motivates and empowers us to good behavior.
