Additional Information

Is Jon an organist?

While Jon has and will continue to play piano for worship, he himself is not an organist. If Jon is not playing organ himself, he will be committed to ensuring regular use of our organ by involving several guest organists. We’re confident this approach will encourage an increase in both opportunities and volunteers, enabling worship to continue featuring a variety of instruments–including the organ.

Why an interim position?

Jon is an exemplary member of Trinity who brings organizational, interpersonal, and spiritual gifts. Moreover, Jon is a gifted musician, committed to growing in his musical competency. Nevertheless, the role of worship director is a career change. Through prayer and discernment, Jon, Paul, and Erica agreed that the interim arrangement was the wisest approach to offer future flexibility to Jon and Lynn (wife) and to Trinity. As he leads in this role, Paul, Erica, and the entire team are committed to supporting him in every way.
