The Storyteller: Great Banquet Day 4

Who are you in the parable?
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV

Are you the invited guest to the banquet, intent on making excuses? Are you one of the ‘Replacements’ roster, plucked from the streets and alleys? Are you the ‘compelled’ ones from the country lanes invited to ensure that the banquet is filled? Are you the servant of the host ready to do his master’s bidding to find people to attend the feast?

Our Lord’s Kingdom is likened to this Great Banquet. The Banquet feast is prepared and paid for by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. It is a place of never ending joy. It almost sounds too good to be true. Our Lord is determined to see that the Banquet is filled and we are able to taste his goodness and mercy. God doesn’t stop with one invitation. He has been sending us multiple invitations throughout our lives. Will you answer the call and receive his Grace?

What will be your reaction if you receive the invitation for this feast? Will you reject the invitation by making spurious excuses? Will you not turn up to the feast because you think it is too good to be true? If you are the servant, will you not heed the call of your God to catch more people to attend the Banquet?

Have a conversation with God and accept his invitation to be a part of his kingdom.
