Teach Us to Pray Lead Us Not Into Temptation Day 2

Praying with Another’s Words

Let these words lead you to your own. Pause and fill in your personal conversation with God as needed. Take one pertinent line and write a further reflection in your journal.

Protecting Gracious Father -  When I look at our world today, I see nothing but evil.  I see wars, evil treatment of others, lying, hatred, blatant immorality and a penchant to overlook almost any kind of human behavior.  I know you are good and loving.  You are also just – hating sin and evil.  I also know that Satan is in this world frantically trying to do his best to grab men and women from you!  Protect us Lord from his attempts to lure us away from you.  Help us to “put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you(we) may be able to stand against the devil’s schemes.”  (Eph. 6:11)

Save me Lord from sin and every evil – especially that which lies within me.  Help me to better know you through your Word.  I want to intimately know your framework and pattern for my life.  I want to live in a way pleasing to you – a way that shows others your laws, your mercy and your grace.  Send your Holy Spirit to our fallen world so that you may be proclaimed to all people.  Thwart the work of Satan and bring justice, peace, harmony and goodness to our world. Come, Lord Jesus, come!
