Teach Me to Pray Lead Us Not Into Temptation Day 4

Meditative (Listening) Prayer

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

James 4:10 NIV

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV

And as midday passed, they raved on until the time of the offering of the oblation, but there was no voice. No one answered; no one paid attention.

1 Kings 18:29 ESV

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you… Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:5,9 ESV

Don’t give up! Talk to God! When you are in that spiritual wasteland or going through that spiritual drought, turn to God. He is the only one that can fill that void. When you feel tempted to turn left to false idols (things or people we think can fill our empty hearts), turn right to the Only One who saves. In moments of solitude open your heart. Write one of the passages above in your journal and hear His response. Fill your empty soul and fix your broken heart.
