Visual Prayer

At the moment I have all I need—and more! I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me with Epaphroditus. They are a sweet-smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God. And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Now all glory to God our Father forever and ever! Amen.  Philippians 4:18–20 (NLT)

When Marie Antoinette notoriously said, “Let them eat cake!” she clearly did not understand about life’s necessities. God does. In fact his understanding of our necessities is better than our own. In your prayer journal sketch out a simple breadbasket and thoughtfully label the necessities you can thank God for. Consider how they came to be in your breadbasket. If you’re feeling like your basket has some gaps reflect about the need and tell God you trust Him to fill it.If you’re finding an abundance, listen for directions to fill another’s basket.
