Teach Me to Pray Forgive Us Our Trespasses Day 5

boundary-

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Visual Prayer

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.  Colossians 3:12–14 (NLT)

How often have you drawn a line in the sand, daring someone to cross it? It’s our human sinful nature to trespass on God’s boundaries. God’s grace is not applied on the basis on how many times that we’ve crossed His will for us. It’s applied on the basis of His love for us.

We also know well the sting of someone crossing the line. Paul reminds us to forgive like God, with boundless love.

In your prayer journal, sketch out a line in the sand. Draw in the print of your toe in trespass mode, repeat, and repeat. As you continue to sketch your trampling trespasses, thank God for his boundless love.

Name one footprint, someone who has hurt your boundary, and view that person with God’s forgiving love. How will this perspective change your interaction with them?
