Take It Home Advent: Rejoice Day 4

Rejoice in Our Struggles

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11 NIV

For some people, Christmas is anything but joyful. Anxiety or depression, relational struggles or uncertain health can turn the season’s colors to grey. The confidence of this Psalm verse suggests a way to address the Holiday doldrums. Focus on the sureness of God in this verse and face the day.

  1. Wake up.
  2. Fill your mind and heart with words of peace, wisdom, and joy.
  3. Believe that Happiness and Joy are your birthrights.
  4. Think about ways to make yourself and others happy and bring about joy that day.
  5. Compliment someone.
  6. Watch them smile.
  7. Smile back.
  8. Fill both buckets.
  9. Repeat the rest of the day.
