Jesus comes bringing both grace and truth. As Christians, when it comes to issues of sexuality, we often feel the need to be the voice of truth in people’s lives. And while there is certainly a time for that, notice that John consistently, when speaking of the mission of Jesus, leads with grace and not truth. In fact, he confesses that from Jesus we have all received from his fullness “grace upon grace” (note: not “truth upon truth”!).
