Songs of the Season
We live in a world in which waiting is uncomfortable. In a time of instant gratification and quick fixes, we will do anything to get past “the in-between” times to find relief and quick answers to life’s struggles. But, if we push past the times of waiting, lament, and longing, we miss the glory of the arrival on the other side of the waiting.
In Advent, there are three arrivals of Christ. First, Christ arrived in Bethlehem on Christmas morning as he was incarnated in human flesh. Second, Christ has arrived by his Spirit among us right now. Thirdly, we look forward to his final arrival in glory when he comes again on the last day.
In this series, we will join our voices with Mary, Zachariah, the angels, Simeon, and most importantly, God himself. The songs that responded to God’s goodness from expectant people become our own songs as we wait in expectation.
You are invited to join us this Advent season as we count down the arrival of the King.
