Re-Opening Christianity

Christianity, of course, was never closed. But as we inch our way back towards some semblance of normal life during this pandemic, we have a great opportunity to do a “reality check” on ourselves and individual believers, and on our church family as a whole. Over these three weeks we are going to ask three key questions of ourselves as we “re-open” Christianity. Am I open to others, especially those different to me, or am I closed off? Am I a contributor to the work of God’s people or am I a consumer, seeking to get my own needs met? And am I a Christian who is on the offensive for the work of God in the world around me, or am I on the defensive, overwhelmed by the world around me that seems to grow more and more hostile toward things of faith? We will use three stories from the Bible to help us ask these questions: The Jerusalem Council, The story of Tabitha, and The Story of David and Goliath.
