Sing: Jesus Saves

Hope is here
Shout the news to everyone
It's a new day, peace has come
Jesus saves
Mercy triumphs at the cross
Love has come to rescue us
Jesus saves

Hope is here
What a joyful noise we'll make
As we join with heaven's song
To let all the world know that Jesus saves
Raise a shout
To let all the world know that Jesus saves

Free at last
Every debt has been repaid
Broken hearts can be remade
Jesus saves
Sing above the storms of life
Sing it through the darkest night
Jesus saves

Hope is here
What a joyful noise we'll make
As we join with heaven's song

To let all the world know that Jesus saves
Raise a shout
To let all the world know that Jesus saves

Sing it out
To let all the world know that Jesus saves
Raise a shout
To let all the world know that Jesus saves

You save, you heal, restore, reveal
The father's heart to us
You rose to raise us from the grave
Your spirit lives in us

Sing it out
To let all the world know that Jesus saves
Raise a shout
To let all the world know that Jesus saves

Shout it out
To let all the world know that Jesus saves
Raise a shout
To let all the world know that Jesus saves

Sing it out
To let all the world know that Jesus saves
Raise a shout
To let all the world know that Jesus saves

We shout
'Till the whole world knows his name, Jesus
Sing it out
We shout for we will know your name

Holy Baptism

GOD'S PROMISES

Jesus says in the last chapter of Matthew, “All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” [Matthew 28:18-19]

In the last chapter of Mark, he promises, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved.” [Matt 28:18b-19; Mark 16:16a]

In baptism, God frees us from sin and death by joining us to the death and resurrection of Jesus [Romans 6:1-4]. By water and the Holy Spirit we are born again as children of God and made members of the church, the body of Christ.

The benefits of baptism are profound and eternal:

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” [Acts 2:38-39]

OPPORTUNITIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To raise our children in community with God’s people in its various forms;
  • Bring our children to hear the Word of God and experience Communion regularly;
  • Teach our children how to grow in the church’s core values: worshiping God, connecting with others in small group, serving others, leading and being lead, sharing our faith, being generous, and living accountable lives;
  • Read the Bible with our children often, teaching them to read it for themselves; and
  • Nurture our children in the faith through prayer.

OUR PROMISES

P: (Parent), do you promise to help your child grow in the Christian faith and life? If so answer, “I do, with God’s help.”

P: (Sponsors), do you promise to nurture this child in the Christian faith and help him/her live in the covenant of baptism and in communion with the church? If so answer, “we do, with God’s help.”

P: Church, do you promise to support this child and pray for him/her as he/she lives a new life in Christ? If so answer “we do, with God’s help.”

APOSTLES' CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen

Scripture

So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." [John 10:7-10 ESV

Sing: How Can It Be

I am guilty
Ashamed of what I've done, what I've become
These hands are dirty
I dare not lift them up to the Holy one

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free
How can it be
How can it be

I've been hiding
Afraid I've let you down, inside I doubt
That You still love me
But in Your eyes there's only grace now

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free
How can it be
How can it be

Though I fall, You can make me new
From this death I will rise with You
Oh the grace reaching out for me
How can it be
How can it be

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free

You plead my cause
You right my wrongs
You break my chains
You overcome
You gave Your life
To give me mine
You say that I am free
How can it be
How can it be

Confession and Forgiveness

Heavenly Father, I confess that my heart needs to be healed. I am tempted to hold onto things of this world out of fear, failure, shame or regret. I have allowed myself to steal from others in my heart, out of envy, jealousy, or resentment. Lead me away from the temptation to hold onto that which is not mine. I need to be healed and made whole again through your Son, Jesus. Jesus is what I need.

You plead my cause, you right my wrongs and you break my chains. You alone can overcome my sin and shame. You gave your life to give me mine. I pray, make me whole again in Christ. You have set me apart for a new life, a life that is full and complete in you. Let me worship you and remember that all things in Heaven and on Earth are yours, yours to give and to share through Christ. In your name, amen.

Passing the Peace

Even though COVID-19 says we can't shake hands, hug, slap high-fives or otherwise encourage each other physically, we can still celebrate! God has forgiven us and now we have a brand new life to share with others. Let's get up and share God's peace!

communion

Communion

At Trinity we can receive the blessing of Holy Communion every week (unless we're Baptizing)! We believe the body and blood of Jesus is given to us mysteriously by God, through faith, as we receive the bread (or wafer) and wine. So why not receive that gift as often as you can? Pastor Mike will offer some simple instructions to guide you. If you have any questions about Communion or Baptism at TSN, please feel free to ask.

If you would prefer to receive a blessing instead of Communion, you’ll receive that from someone in your family group or the pastor via social distance. We love for everyone in attendance to participate and receive God’s provision and blessing!

Communion Song

Come to the table that Jesus has set
He calls and invites so you’ll never forget, but
Remember forever his body and blood
Broken and poured out to show the whole world his love

It was a night when friends became family
All but for one who followed the enemy down to his grave
It was a time for wisdom and tragedy
Shrouded in love, revealing his majesty, sovereign he was (and still is)

He took the bread and broke it in prayer
Passed it around to everyone there
And a mystery was made; his body it became

He took the cup and blessed the night’s wine
Asked them to drink it with him one last time
Before we went away, to return to them someday

This is my blood, this is my body
Given and shed for all that I have made and all that I love
If you believe he came here for you
Perfect in power he laid it all down, he gave it all away
So you could take his place

Jesus loves, Jesus lives, Jesus reigns, Jesus gives
Jesus loves, Jesus lives, Jesus reigns, Jesus gives

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom
and the power and the glory
forever and ever. Amen

Sing: Glorious Day

I was buried beneath my shame
Who could carry that kind of weight?
It was my tomb
'Til I met You

I was breathing, but not alive
All my failures I tried to hide
It was my tomb
'Til I met You

You called my name
And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day
You called my name
And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day

Now Your mercy has saved my soul
Now Your freedom is all that I know
The old made new
Jesus, when I met You

You called my name
And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day
You called my name
And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day

I needed rescue
My sin was heavy
But chains break at the weight of Your glory
I needed shelter
I was an orphan
Now You call me a citizen of Heaven

When I was broken
You were my healing
Now Your love is the air that I'm breathing
I have a future
My eyes are open

'Cause when You called my name
I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day
You called my name
And I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness
Into Your glorious day
