Sing: Whom Shall I Fear

You hear me when I call
You are my morning song
Though darkness fills the night
It cannot hide the light
Whom shall I fear

You crush the enemy
Underneath my feet
You are my sword and shield
Though troubles linger still
Whom shall I fear

I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

My strength is in your name
For you alone can save
You will deliver me
Yours is the victory
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear

I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in your hands
I'm holding on to your promises
You are faithful
You are faithful

Nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in your hands
I'm holding on to your promises
You are faithful
You are faithful
You are faithful

I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

Scripture Reading

Acts 5:17 Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. 18 They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. 19 But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. 20 “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.”

21 At daybreak they entered the temple courts, as they had been told, and began to teach the people.

When the high priest and his associates arrived, they called together the Sanhedrin—the full assembly of the elders of Israel—and sent to the jail for the apostles. 22 But on arriving at the jail, the officers did not find them there. So they went back and reported, 23 “We found the jail securely locked, with the guards standing at the doors; but when we opened them, we found no one inside.” 24 On hearing this report, the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests were at a loss, wondering what this might lead to.

25 Then someone came and said, “Look! The men you put in jail are standing in the temple courts teaching the people.” 26 At that, the captain went with his officers and brought the apostles. They did not use force, because they feared that the people would stone them.

27 The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest. 28 “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.”

29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! 30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. 31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. 32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

[Acts 5:17-32 NIV]

Sing: Way Maker

You are here, moving in our midst
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, working in this place
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, moving in our midst
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, working in this place
I worship You, I worship You

You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

You are here, touching every heart
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, healing every heart
I worship You, I worship You

You're turning lives around
You are here, oh, turning lives around
I worship You, I worship You
You mended every heart

You are here, and You are mending every heart
I worship You, I worship You

And You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

Oh it's who You are, Jesus
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

Sing that is who You are
Oh, that is who You are
And that is who You are
Oh, and that is who You are

That is who You are
Lord Jesus, that is who You are
That is who You are
That is who You are
That is who You are

My Jesus
Miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

Yes it is yeah, it's who You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

Even when I don't see it, You're working
Even when I don't see it, You're working
Even when I don't feel it, You're working
You never stop, You never stop working
You never stop, You never stop working

Even when I don't see it, You're working
Even when I don't feel it, You're working
You never stop, You never stop working
You never stop, You never stop working

Even when I don't see it, You're working
Even when I don't feel it, You're working
You never stop, You never stop working
You never stop (yeah oh), You never stop working

Even when I don't see it, You're working
Even when I don't feel it, You're working
You never stop, You never stop working
You never stop, You never stop working

Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

Sing that is who You are
Oh, that is who You are
That is who You are
Oh and, that is who You are

That is who You are
Yeah, and that is who You are, yeah
That is who You are
Oh, that is who You are
That is who You are

Oh it's who You are, now Jesus
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

Forgiven

Confession and Forgiveness

Heavenly Father, I hear your call on my life to be brave in times of conversation; there are times when I have been anything but brave, hiding from conversations in which I might take a stand for something important, including faith in Jesus.

I have avoided talking about obedience to God for fear of offending someone. I have eluded the death of Jesus as a central theme in my life's salvation and in the salvation of others. I have often escaped the call to be a witness for Jesus in the world around me.

Have mercy on me and my fearful spirit; renew my life in Christ and reorient me to a life of courage in the Holy Spirit's work. When he calls me to stand, may I stand in his power and with his love. In Jesus' name, amen.

Passing the Peace

Even though COVID-19 says we can't physically shake hands, hug, slap high-fives or otherwise encourage each other, we can still do "air versions" and celebrate! God has forgiven us and now we have a brand new life to share with others. Let's get up and share God's peace!

Passing the Peace Song

Living as forgiven people
Forgiving as you taught us how
I'm walking in grace, I'm walking in love
to the sound of your peace

Prayers of the Church

Looking for a prayer partner? Click HERE. After every petition, we will say, “In Jesus’ name…” and we invite you to respond, “Hear our prayer.”

All+Saints+Banner

All Saints' Day is a universal festival of the Church. This festival day directs our attention to the richness of Christian history and the varied experiences of the grace of God by lifting up the lives of the saints.

The custom of commemorating all the martyrs of the Church on a single day goes back at least to the third century. All Saints' Day celebrates not only the martyrs and saints, but all the people of God, living and dead, who together form the mystical body of Christ.

Today if you would like to lift up the name of someone you love who passed away following Jesus, we'll do that together in prayer. But first, for the next few minutes, you're invited to watch and listen as our leader worshipper, Vickie, shares a song she wrote. As she sings and as you listen, let the Holy Spirit guide you into a bittersweet balance of the loss of your loved one and the joy of one day seeing that person again.

We remember our saints in prayer today, and we give thanks for their lives. We remember and find strength in their faith and the faith of all saints both known to us and known only to God.

We lift up the images of our loved ones and pray together:

On All Saints' Day, I remember with thanksgiving someone in my life who has passed away in Christ, someone I miss and love.

I ask, God, that you would continue to grant this saint of yours eternal rest and that we would be kept in communion with this child of God and all the saints until we are reunited around the throne of God and the Lamb. In Jesus' name, amen.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the kingdom
and the power and the glory
forever and ever. Amen

communion

Communion

At Trinity we can receive the blessing of Holy Communion every week (unless we're Baptizing)! We believe the body and blood of Jesus is given to us mysteriously by God, through faith, as we receive the bread (or wafer) and wine. So why not receive that gift as often as you can? Pastor Mike will offer some simple instructions to guide you. If you have any questions about Communion or Baptism at TSN, please feel free to ask.

If you would prefer to receive a blessing instead of Communion, you’ll receive that from someone in your family group or the pastor via social distance. We love for everyone in attendance to participate and receive God’s provision and blessing!

Communion Song

Come to the table that Jesus has set
He calls and invites so you’ll never forget, but
Remember forever his body and blood
Broken and poured out to show the whole world his love

It was a night when friends became family
All but for one who followed the enemy down to his grave
It was a time for wisdom and tragedy
Shrouded in love, revealing his majesty, sovereign he was (and still is)

He took the bread and broke it in prayer
Passed it around to everyone there
And a mystery was made; his body it became

He took the cup and blessed the night’s wine
Asked them to drink it with him one last time
Before we went away, to return to them someday

This is my blood, this is my body
Given and shed for all that I have made and all that I love
If you believe he came here for you
Perfect in power he laid it all down, he gave it all away
So you could take his place

Jesus loves, Jesus lives, Jesus reigns, Jesus gives
Jesus loves, Jesus lives, Jesus reigns, Jesus gives
