The story of Jacob and Esau is a story of two brothers who, from the moment they were born, lived in conflict. Growing up they experienced the pain of favoritism from their parents and lived at odds with one another. And like them we are born into a world of conflict with imperfect families and relationships where hurts pile up and forgiveness is rarely, if ever, given.

Yet Psalm 133 ends with some enigmatic words: that on Mt. Zion God would command a blessing that brings true unity and gives the gift of life forevermore. Psalm 133 points us to the fact that healing is one day on Mt. Zion God would bring an end to all conflict and nations will no longer lift up the sword against one another (Isaiah 2:15).
