The Bible teaches that even secular leaders derive their authority from God. They are God’s servants for good in His creation. Whether they recognize God’s authority or not, when they use their authority to restrain evil in the world and create a safe society for all.

Christians demonstrate their obedience to God when they are obedient to their government. When we pay taxes and give respect and honor to our civil leaders we are showing we recognize their God-given role in our lives and in our society.
