Digital cameras have for all intents and purposes replaced film cameras. They allow us to take pictures without the expense and delay of film. The first “camera phone” came out in 2000, allowing us to have the ability to take a photo anytime our phone was with us. Then in 2003 Sony put something new in their Ericsson Z1010 mobile phone: a front facing camera. This allowed the user to take pictures of… themselves. By 2005 the term “selfie” was born, and in 2016 Google reported 24 BILLION selfies were uploaded on Google’s servers!
