I see my sins. God sees perfection. - TSN

Scripture: Hebrews 10:14–25

An honest assessment of my life leads me to admit that much of what I do is motivated by selfishness, and that I “sin daily and deserve nothing but punishment.” (Luther in his explanation to the Lord’s Prayer) In short – when I look in the mirror I see a sinner.

But the Bible teaches us an amazing fact – when Jesus died on the cross he paid the price for my sin. The Bible goes on to say this action by Jesus “perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.” Did you catch that? We have BEEN perfected. It is a done deal. God has written his law on our hearts and in our minds. He has given us the ability to live a new way. When Jesus said “it is finished” he meant it! You are a forgiven, sinless, child of God… at least as far as God is concerned. And ultimately, his opinion is the only one that matters.
