Week 4 - With A Muslim - TGT

March 26, 2017 Speaker: Dave McGinley Series: Jesus Walk into a Bar

Topic: Different Religions Scripture: Romans 3:19–26, Mark 12:30, Luke 15:11–32

For the Muslim, God is arbitrary. He judges whom he will judge, and has mercy only where and when it pleases him. We cannot count on receiving mercy (and that mercy does not cost God anything), even as punishment from God may or may not be inevitable. A relationship with a god like this is impossible.

Jesus teaches of a God that is just. He speaks clearly of how God treats all sin the same. All people have sinned and fallen short of the standard by which God judges. But God is also gracious (which comes at a cost), and as a result provides a righteousness to all who will receive it through Jesus. A relationship with a god like this is not only possible, it is freely offered in Jesus.
