In the two stories at the beginning of this text Jesus deals with the question about why bad things happen to some and not others. The people think the bad things are signs of God's judgment. But Jesus highlights that we are all guilty of God's judgment. Then Jesus tells a story that illustrates while we might be guilty, God is patient and will do what it takes to produce the fruit of repentance in our lives.
