The Old Testament book of Ruth is a tale of woe. Two women face disaster. Their lives crumble into dust. Yet this book is filled with goodnews-Gospel. We see three characters, Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz plod through their daily life under the oversight of a gracious God. They experience and reflect unfailing love… faithfulness… loyalty… mercy… grace… kindness. We see them accept the tough role of helper, even redeemer for someone who has no options. Ruth asks us, Can we bring such grace into our stories? Can we reflect God’s graciousness into awkward relationships and open a path for redemption? Can we move with God’s plan of grace for the world?
