Speaking of the King

The word “Advent” means “arrival”. It is a season in which we are waiting for the second coming of Christ by looking back at his first coming. It helps to remind us of who Jesus is and why he came. In this season of Advent, we want to look at Jesus through the lens of John’s gospel. In the opening chapter of that story Jesus is given four titles in just a few short verses. Yet each title tells us something deep and profound about his identity and mission. They are invitations to “come and behold him” with fresh eyes as we look forward to the day when he comes again in glory.
