Trinity Kimberly Way July Update
Though the ongoing pandemic continues to pose new challenges, ministry continues to expand at Trinity Kimberly Way. This past month saw the formation of two new serving opportunities here at our location: the Trinity Community Garden and the Emergency Response Team Mobile Kitchen.
Trinity Community Garden
For the past year our Garden Club has been preparing to build a community garden on our grounds that would provide community members an opportunity to learn about sustainable gardening methods while also producing fresh vegetables to supply our local food pantries.
This past month those dreams were realized as the Garden Club partnered with members of our High School Youth Group, SHINE, to build the raised beds and begin the planting work. In addition, one of these beds will be used by our Preschool to teach children about gardening and provide them with some hands-on tangible ways to understand the "growth" of God's Kingdom. If you are interested in learning more about how YOU can be involved in sustaining these gardening efforts contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Emergency Response Team Mobile Kitchen
This year Lutheran Church Charities donated a full-function mobile kitchen to Trinity's Emergency Response Team. This kitchen will enable our team to provide warm meals in disaster zones as they head out to provide relief in times of crisis. This past month a team of volunteers spent several hours cleaning and preparing the kitchen for use. If you are interested in learning more about our Emergency Response Team and how you can be involved contact Jan Boerman at 630-605-5722 or email@example.com.
