Trinity Kimberly Way

At Trinity Kimberly Way the theme of new growth and new life is an appropriate one as we enter the Summer months. Our site continues to focus on outreach and connecting with the new people God is bringing through our doors each week, especially the growing number of young families that are starting to call Trinity Kimberly Way their church home. In May we were once again blessed to be led by our children’s choir, Joyful Noise, and our newest ensemble, the children’s bell choir. In addition, Lori Trinche has joined our site team in a volunteer capacity, focusing on coordinating, training, and continuing to strengthen our various First Impressions teams. The goal is to help our guests and new members get connected to community and opportunities to serve at Kimberly Way.

Another way we are seeing new life and new growth is through our Community Garden Club, a new partnership between Kimberly Way and the community gardens of Lisle to provide fresh and sustainable produce to our various community pantries. This new initiative provides training for anyone who wants to learn how to grow good food while also blessing those in need in our community. On June 2 they will gather to talk about water conservation and stewardship in gardening. If you would like to join them visit www.tlc4u.org/makeadifference for more details.

Some wonderful kids programming is also starting up this Summer. In July we kick off Camp KidStreet, our Summer Bible club for children birth through 4th grade. This event draws families from several of our Trinity sites, but also from the community. Each Monday in July families gather for dinner, Bible lessons and activities, and a bonfire. Each event runs from 5:00-8:30pm. Those who are interested can get more details and register by visiting www.tlc4u.org/campkidstreet.

Finally, we are excited to continue hosting Discipleship Community every other month. Discipleship Community is our chance to come together as a location for a time of prayer, vision casting, and training around our mission. In July we will be focusing on how to help disciple others by encountering God through His Word. Furthermore, we have begun posting resources and opportunities at tlc4u.org/tkw-discipleship.
