Northern Illinois Lutheran Emergency Response Teams In Action

trinitylogo14x14

Over the next two weeks, Northern Illinois Lutheran Emergency Response Teams (LERT) are deploying to Iowa to support areas that have been devastated by the derecho that went through there in August.  Four of Trinity's members are heading that way.  Please keep these teams in your prayers.  Teams will be doing heavy chain saw work and will be cooking.

The LLC Mobile Kitchen is going too!  Trinity has taken the lead to get this kitchen ready and up and running.  We praise God that so many people of Trinity have graciously contributed through hard work and financially to get the kitchen ready to go.  Thank you to all who contributed!  It will be put to good use these next few weeks as we seek to bring peace and the hope of Christ to those in Iowa who have been affected by this storm.

Other ways you can contribute to this trip:

HOMEMADE COOKIES....of any kind are always much appreciated!!! Please package in freezer bags & put into the freezer.  we never have too many!!

BACON...I could also use several pounds of NOT entirely cooked bacon in freezer bags & put into the freezer.  We never have too much of that either.  The chainsaw guys really love their bacon!

BREADS ...Any kind of banana , pumpkin,  zucchini or whatever breakfast breads or desserts.  Again, packaged in freezer bags and put into the freezer.

We will coordinate a drop off area at Trinity Kimberly Way for you to bring these items September 18 or 19.  If you plan to help in this way, please tell Jan Boerman (boermanj2@aol.com) and we will get you the drop off details.  Also, contact Jan with any questions.
