COVID-19 Care Team Update
Trinity jumped into action as the COVID-19 pandemic began back in March, 2020. Chad Leonard, Michelle Bratton and Amy Narot led the charge with pulling together about 80 volunteers from all four sites to do some amazing work over the three months of March, April and May. Some of that work continues through today!
Volunteers signed up to help via Trinity's COVID-19 webpage. The activities in which they engaged were centered on our team mission to Bring the Love of Jesus to Members and Our Community in meaningful ways during this pandemic. This care included making meals, buying groceries, making friendly phone calls, offering prayer support, delivering devotionals, sending notes of encouragement, helping families find community resources, serving at Loaves and Fishes and West Suburban Community Pantry, and more. Trinity even co-sponsored 2 mobile food pantries for food distribution to over 100 families where we served as the volunteer staff for each event.
A huge Thank You to all the volunteers! These volunteers put in several hours of work. In the future, we hope to have an in person celebration to connect our callers with those they have called, sometime after a vaccine perhaps. We are grateful to all our volunteers for their efforts to help keep our Trinity family better connected during this time. Those who received calls have also expressed such gratitude.
