Holy Week Worship Schedule
Join us on a journey as we retrace Jesus's steps, beginning with his triumphant entry into Jerusalem, his trial and execution, and finally, the empty tomb and his Resurrection on Easter. Throughout the week, we offer special services designed to help us immerse ourselves in the story and gain a fresh perspective on these significant events.

Healing the Past, Living in the Present

January 26, 2020 Series: Reconciler's Journey

Scripture: Genesis 33:1–33:20

The story of Jacob and Esau paints a powerful picture of conflict, reconciliation, and learning to live in the present. While Jacob and Esau are eventually restored to right relationship with each other, it is a long process and a journey for them both. As such, it helps us understand what reconciliation looks like for us today.

Reconciliation requires that we tell the truth about the past and own the hurts that we have given and the hurts we have received. It is willing to name what was and what is.  As such, it allows us to also put distance between ourselves and those who have hurt us, while still keeping the door open to the hope of restoration by praying for others and, where possible, serving them in love.
