Love Your Enemies

February 21, 2018 Speaker:

Topic: God's Love Scripture: Matthew 5:43–5:48

All of the world’s religions share a certain amount of ethical common ground. They all have laws forbidding killing, theft, and murder. They all have laws promoting truth wheeling and caring for your family, your people, and those in need. But the one law that you don’t see is this one: “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” This flies in the face of every ethical standard and yet Jesus says this is exactly how the people of God are to live. Furthermore, it sounds impossible. After all, how can I feel affection for someone who has deeply wronged or even harmed me?

The answer is found by looking at the heart of love and example of love.
