Old Testament Course: Wisdom for Faithful Reading

7:00pm – 8:30pm
Category: All Trinity SitesCourse Description
How do we get to know God? This is a question that many people have.
To begin to answer it, think of how you get to know other people. Usually that happens as we begin to share our stories. The sharing of stories together builds a relationship based on that which is known of a friend, and eventually, our stories intertwine.
In the same way, God wants us to know him and he makes that possible by sharing his story with us. That is one of the best descriptions of what the Bible is and how it works. So if you want to know God better, dive into his story.
That is what we will be doing together as we gather on Wednesday evenings in May and June—thinking together about how to be capable readers of God’s story as it is contained in the Bible (the only place his story can be found).
Our first step to doing that will focus on how we can read God’s story faithfully and productively. Just like when we use an ATM, we need to be aware of the methods that will bring the desired results. Before actually beginning a Bible study, we will therefore spend some time learning how to read the Bible well using the book Wisdom for Faithful Reading.
