Holy Week Worship Schedule
Join us on a journey as we retrace Jesus's steps, beginning with his triumphant entry into Jerusalem, his trial and execution, and finally, the empty tomb and his Resurrection on Easter. Throughout the week, we offer special services designed to help us immerse ourselves in the story and gain a fresh perspective on these significant events.

Not Peace But A Sword

March 7, 2018 Speaker:

Topic: Truth Passage: Matthew 10:34–10:39

Occasionally, we come across passages in Scripture which throw all our preconceived notions about Jesus right out the window. And nowhere is that more on display than with these words: “I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” It throws us because elsewhere Jesus is referred to as the Prince of Peace and declares, boldly, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you” (Jn. 14:27). Though many people associate Jesus with peace, we see Jesus himself turning that very notion on its head. But beneath the shock of this statement we encounter something beautiful about Jesus: “He is not safe, but he is good. He’s the King.”
