Holy Week Worship Schedule
Join us on a journey as we retrace Jesus's steps, beginning with his triumphant entry into Jerusalem, his trial and execution, and finally, the empty tomb and his Resurrection on Easter. Throughout the week, we offer special services designed to help us immerse ourselves in the story and gain a fresh perspective on these significant events.

What is Confirmation

August 6, 2017 Speaker: Dennis Franzen Series: Confirmation

Topic: Core Doctrine Passage: Deuteronomy 6:4–6:9, Joshua 24:14–24:15, Matthew 10:32–10:33

In the Explanation to Luther’s Small Catechism, our church body defines Confirmation as, “a public rite of the church preceded by a time of instruction to help baptized Christians identify with the life and mission of the Christian community.” To be sure, Confirmation is a human invention not commanded by God in His Word. However, this process and rite help us as individuals and as God’s people do a number of things that ARE commanded in God’s Word.
